Kushal Sprints to Warrior Games Double

Kushal Ashford Athletic Club Sprinter Kushal Limbu travelled to COLORADO SPRINGS to compete for Team GB in the 2013 Warrior games. The Ashford athlete who has been competing since 2010 competed in both the 100m and 200m events. Kushal who ended 2012 ranked 4th in the world for 100m in his T43 class blew away the competition to complete a double success in both the 100m with a season’s best time of 12.01s and later in the day followed it with a win in the 200m. Kushal is currently in the process registering to compete for Team GB and hopes to compete at the 2016 Paralympics following just missing out last year.

ASHFORD Athletic Club Paralympic hopeful Kushal Limbu confirmed he is in the form of his life running two personal bests in the 60m sprint at Crystal Palace.
The 28 year old athlete from Folkestone ran an impressive 8.18s to knock over two tenths of a second off his previous best.
Kushal opens his 2012 outdoor season in the venue he hopes to finish in the Olympic Stadium on Sunday April 1 for a charity 100m race and this will be followed by three key International Paralympic Committee endorsed competitions in which he hopes to run the Paralympic qualifying for both the 100m and 20om sprint events.
Coach Pete Le Rossignol said: “Kushals 60m personal best shows he is on course to run the qualifying times to compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games this summer. His hard work and commitment to training is really paying off.”

ASHFORD Athletic Club sprinter Kushal Limbu, who is hoping to compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games in September, started his 2012 season with a win and personal best at the Crystal Palace open sprints competition last week.
Competing in his first ever indoor 60m race Kushal won his first race in a time of 8.56s; 45 minutes later he improved his time to 8.44s to finish second in his race.
Kushal is classified as a T43 athlete for the Paralympics was the only disabled athlete competing at the competition and forms part of his preparations for competing at the London 2012 Paralympics that start on August 29 in both the 100m and 200m sprint events.
Kushal has been invited to compete at the Olympic stadium on Tuesday, May 8 in the Paralympic test event.
Kushal, a sniper with 2nd Battalion the Royal Gurkha Rifles, was on his second tour of Afghanistan when he was blown up in November 2008.
He was returning from patrol in a ­convoy of five Warrior carriers near Musa Qala, Helmand Province, when his vehicle struck a large improvised explosive ­device.
Kushal’s training partners Nathan Fatola and Chris Meakin were also in action both running personal bests in their first races of the indoor season. Nathan ran 7.46s and Chris 7.62s both are hoping to improve these times at the Kent Indoor Championships on Sunday.
