Front Desk Admin Team Assistants

One hour a month is all we ask


Would YOU be interested in becoming a Starter/Marksman for the club ? Derek Seamon would be happy to mentor/advise anyone over 18 on how to get involved.

Required on club nights to assist Jenny, Tracey and Kate when they have an odd night off.

Equipment Manager

Twice a year could you help make sure that AAC equipment is well looked after?

Would you be able to do an equipment stock take each year (list already on a spreadsheet!) and help our head coach keep the equipment pod tidy? Then the Club needs you

Coaching Assistants

1 session per week, day and time to suit.

Help an athlete achieve their goals by assisting an experienced coach by using a stopwatch or video camera so they can get instant feedback.

Web site Contributors/Reporters

Got 30mins a month to promoting AAC to the world?

Thinking about a career in the media? We can offer you valuable experience working with a sports journalist?  

Our web site gets 000s of hits a month and is helping recruit new athletes. Our team managers and coaches already submit great items to our press officer but we need more people to contribute photos, competition results etc.  

Our experienced press officer can turn basic facts into a good read and offer help tips on writing a report or article.     

Meetings Manager

Are you the person that can make it make it happen on the day?

The Club hosts between 4-6 home meetings each year.  A meetings manager is needed to co-ordinate the different people that the Club needs to run these meetings – officials, announcer, logistics, booking the Stadium, liasing with team managers, food for the officials etc.

Transport and St John’s First Aid

Would you like to help but don’t have very much time?

This simple role only comes up once a year (Feb/March) and requires liasing with Team Managers about away matches and booking the transport needed, and liasing about the home matches and completing a booking form for St John’s Ambulance to provide first aid cover.

Club Kit Sales Team

We our club to stand out amongst the rest and in the community and make sure athletes have a club vest.  1 hour a week during the track season.

10k Road Race Director

Organises the biggest annual fundraiser, high profile national event, and lots of supports from the 2010 director and a great assistant director to do the leg work for you as part of the package.

Our current race director gained valuable project management experience from organising this event that helped get a very good job.

Officials and Timekeepers Funding Available for courses NOW!

See the match from a different perspective by becoming an official or a timekeeper.  It takes 45 officials to run an athletics meeting, so why not give it a try? Courses are held in the winter.

AAC will pay the cost of going on courses and provide with an “Official” Poloshirt and a rulebook.

Club development project co-ordinators

Be part of our 2012 Olympic Legacy Stella our head coach needs assistance with taking forward some very exciting projects that will provide the opportunity to develop coaching knowledge and experience and sport development skills by working together on several new projects.  We have the money but need people to help turn dreams a reality.

Next Generation Team Managers wanted for 2011

AAC is lucky to have had some great team managers over the years.  We need to find their successors to take on this important role supporting our athletes and “shadow” our existing team managers with a view to taking up the post next season.

TMs are provided with a resources park of essential items like clipboards, safety pins and team kit plus a jacket and polo shirt.




Any person supporting the club must have a CRB check, which means team managers, those helping out with officiating, collecting money.

The process is simple:

5. Payment information – tell them you status is as a VOLUNTEER and there will be no charge.
6. You will be sent a part-completed form; check information and complete remainder USING BLACK INK and follow accompanying instructions.
7. Bring relevant documents to Club Verifiers: Mary Davison or Dave Fox.
8. Send completed form to: Athletics Welfare, PO Box 332, Sale, M33 6XL. A copy of disclosure form will be sent to UK Athletics and to you.
