AAC’s 45th Birthday

Ashford AC celebrated its 45th Birthday on 24th March 2010.

The Club’s AGM Minute Book records that the inaugural meeting of AAC took place on Wednesday 24th March 1965 at the Boys Grammar School under the Chairmanship of Mr H G Watts at 7.30 pm. Training took place at the South Secondary School in Jemmett Road. The Club has grown tremendously and the Borough of Ashford owe a great deal of thanks to those people who have worked so hard to keep the Club going over the years and to turn it into the fabulous Club that it is today. We currently have just under 300 members and we compete in 6 Leagues.

To mark the event, Club Chairman, Dominique Huxley, arranged for a cake to be made and distributed on Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25 March training sessions. The photo shows team managers, officials, coaches and athletes after they have already eaten!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AAC – and Many more to come!
